Mis compadres

Yesterday my favorite coworker wrote me, "Lady Linsey, how are you?" Then "you're royalty, aren't you? haha."
After a big event at work where I wished him a good evening despite the circumstances, he wrote, "You my lady,
Remember this. There is always a bright star and a positive aspect or silver lining in every circumstance. Strive to look for the positive in everything and zoom on it."
I'm glad I have him as a coworker.

Light at the end of the tunnel

I have 2 new freckles on my forehead. The appearance of new freckles is weird.

Loni Love

I saw Loni Love at the local comedy club last night (went for the first time). I enjoyed it but didn't laugh a whole lot.

I'm amused my Indian friend from high school wrote me "Hai." Wasn't sure if she meant "hey" or "hi."

I went to my grandparents' today, who I hadn't seen since Christmas. They had wanted to see me. I predicted I wouldn't have anything to say because not much positive/ exciting has been going on, and I wasn't in the highest spirits. My grandma said, "C'mon, Lins, you've had an exciting life, you've got to give us something" to which I just smiled. Being on the porch, sitting on chairs that I've sat on for 10+ years at family events, I remembered what history I have there and felt nostalgic, because when I feel things are bleak, I forget all the great things from the past.

Am going to a going-away party tonight. I should soak it up because it's prob one of few summer parties I'll go to.

An American friend in China wrote me, "Remember, the most important thing about getting what you want is to believe that it is possible now." Those are good words of advice.

I don't have plans tomorrow, which is problematic for me. I'm grateful I've had both Mother and Father's day off. I got a 50cent book at a consignment store today I can give my dad. I want to say we have it but I can give to someone else in that event.

Post-grad

Sitting at my sister's graduation as I heard speeches about moving on to a new chapter in one's life, la dee da, I thought, "How pertinent," as I close a chapter on this job. I laughed during the ceremony when chorale singers would rush at the mike for their part when switching places. One guy pretty much shoved the guy before him out of the way. Then my sis said she thought something was wrong with him. Oops.
This evening, I started to think, "Maybe I should wait til I hear if I can work part-time (5 days from now). This is because, I turned in 2 apps today but now that I'm more "clear-headed," it seems a bit foolish to give notice when I don't have something lined up. I don't know when I will have something concrete. Hilton said they'd call Mon or Tues but didn't. Don't think I'd like the positions they offered or working at a hotel, anyway.

Sister's graduation today

I'm glad my sis registered at the local community college. She's thinking of applying to Hot Topic and a photo studio. It's unfortunate she doesn't have a car.

I'm wrestling with a lot of thoughts right now. I have regrets that I know I should in a way sweep under the rug right now to help move on. I'm relieved I'm quitting my job but am again facing the unknown, which I last felt before my bday when I changed to day shift and had a quarter-life crisis. It's just amazing how I lost perspective with this job. I forgot all the great experiences I've had in my life and almost discounted (?) them, only focusing on the present and thinking the future was bleak.

I went to hatha yoga last night but I got anxious, knowing that we are to focus on breathing, and I am a shallow breather. That, and I didn't like the background music as much. I liked it when it was instrumental Chinese.

New leaf

I bought a watermelon today :).
Getting a pimple and have a networking social tomor; oh well.
Agh, I don't have much to write at the moment. Want to job search a little and vege before going out tonight for dinner, to see an apt, and French meet-up.

Thank god for Tums

That sounds like the start to a TMI post. I'm a wimp when it comes to pain so when I get stomach cramps, I feel I could die. Then I get annoyed that eating out can produce that result; being social often involves a meal out. I don't want to be hungry and think, "This is great, socializing with friends" then get these terrible cramps. So Tums is great.
