I made an apt at 11:30 (nothing serious) for tomor; hope I'll be able to get out of the cul-de-sac.
I got into a crappy mood last night when I realized the loads of strangers I had invited to connect to weren't all accepting my invites, which is legit, because I don't actually know them nor will probably meet them. I get a msg now when I try to connect to new people that I've almost reached my limit and would need to have people's email addresses in the future in order to connect! Hopefully there is a time factor and that could go away. So this realization reinforced the thought that my job searching is haphazardous .. I was trying to connect to a bunch of people with the mindset that "it's who you know." Then I reread my blog from 3 days ago and remember Dad thought I was doing well job search-wise (but the connections aren't working out as well as he thought). I told him how this week I was tired at work; this isn't uncommon but seemed more so this week. Possible the guy situation influenced that because I was so happy to meet him initially and thought some things would "start rolling" in my life and then standstill and not knowing if anything will result.
Being snowed in with my family who irritates me didn't help. I've got to learn to keep positive and not let their "lack of" bother me. My sister was talking on the phone with her friend at midnight and laughing loudly in the family room, which is under my parents' bedroom (one parent was still awake). She annoys me with her lack of consideration for family members. Since I started it, might as well go into other things that bothered me yday. My dad told me that he's handling my sis' laziness, to not write her notes. I don't like writing notes but she pisses me off when she doesn't clean our common space. I wanted to say to him that yes, he is the patriach, but if he could see it from my point of view, that she's being inconsiderate and disrespectful to her sister 7 years her elder. But then, I take things too seriously lately and seem to have a chip on my shoulder but in fact, they aren't worth stressing over.
Which leads to the last thing that came into factor yday, and it's going to really sound like the violin now, but I want my checking account to be higher! It was at a nice level a few months ago but that was before I paid for the laptop and tried to consolidate my car loans to pay them off faster. It's hard to feel optimistic about hopefully moving out soon when my account isn't where I'd like it to be. I did increase my college loan payment, which is good, and finally started a savings again.. this will be my France fund because I know I won't be able to go there this year. Where do the Swiss get their money? I talked to Viviane yday online, who I hadn't heard from in ages, and she wrote she and her friends are planning another trip to NYC in August!
I'm not sure my blog will be full of life lessons, and I don't write often, but it's a decent title for someone in transition figuring things out. A 20-something adventure :)

Chinese Wal-mart, munchies, etc
Last night my goofy (only male since other was off) coworker said he was looking at French Wal-mart online for work. This prompted me to check out Wal-mart China which had a fun page since it's soon the year of the Tiger. I enjoyed looking at the "circulars," of many products I saw in supermarkets, like the lovely Lipton Bubble tea. I sent to a few female coworkers, actually ones with bfs, a screen shot of the ad for red men's underwear writing "Because you know he'd look cute in red boxers or briefs." Chinese New year starts Valentine's Day.. year of the tiger.
I want a dog so badly. I would take any medium-sized to small dog (big ones are smelly) but Schnauzers are ideal because they're what I know, are really cute, and don't shed. The dog we had til age 5 was a Schnauzer/poodle mix though didn't really look like it. He was "blond and brown;" really cute.
My dad said I'm making good progress on my job search, which is nice to hear, even if I'm not progressing as much as I'd like. I had a lunch date a week ago with a potential recruiter and haven't had another event in that time.. goes by quickly when working full-time.
I'm rather silly. You'd think I'd know by now, going on 25. I said to coworkers (handful of women and a bi guy) I suddenly wanted kung pao chicken, and that I've been craving things, like last night diet root beer and a jelly donut. Then I realized, well, duh, I started my period. When I said to my closest coworker sometimes craving things shows a lack in your diet, she joked "Lacking jelly?"
As to this coworker, who introduced me to cute guy, well, I had given her benefit of the doubt that she indeed passed on my # (and therefore, I wondered, even if he's busy studying/working, why hasn't he called?!) I told some people I hadn't heard, and they thought I could contact him. I explained I didn't have his #. And the reason she didn't offer it is that she herself didn't have it.. only her bf does. What rather annoys me is that her bf said to her (who said to me) how his friend seemed to really like me.. and yet he didn't pass on the goddamn # so we could make contact! Urgh. They went to Vegas for a long weekend but still, they're always texting/Twittering. A bit inconsiderate. A friend/coworker thinks still, some time has passed since we met (over 2 weeks), and the longer the time, the less the spark or at least remembering. But I feel this guy is somewhat introverted and doesn't meet a lot of chicks. That's just my hopeful thought. I do, however, agree that to be "pleasantly surprised" is better than being disappointed.

Spelling bee almost-champion
I was runner-up (2nd place) in the spelling bee at the bar last night! I didn't know how to spell this word: glockenspiel. I thought maybe it started "gloughen..." If I had won, the prize is a case of cheap beer, which I don't like nor would have use for since I live with my parents.
Funny thing at the bar last night: even though I don't "go out" a lot, I saw a few people I recognized there. It depends what kind of bar and people, but in general, I feel I would see familiar people if I went out more. It shows Richmond is somewhat small, but I think I like it.
Going out with coworkers has its benefits. I learned some info that seems hopeful that I could be moved to an earlier shift; however, this may not in fact be management's agenda or it could take a long time, so I should bust my ass all the more to get a better job. I said to my friend/coworker before going home last night that I definitely want a better shift/job by the summer. By the spring, of course, but ultimately the summer. Somewhat like I don't still want to be living with my parents at age 25 (soon approaching!), I'm telling myself I simply won't tolerate another summer like last because it was crap. Never again. Summer is supposed to be a time of fun, carefreeness (yeah, made it up) in the evenings, hanging with friends but I was stuck attached to a headset in a cold office building, lonely. (Should I get out my violin? lol)

oh, melatonin
I hate wasting/throwing away things that I know aren't good but at the same time aren't terribly bad; melatonin pills, for example. I took these every night for over a month 3 months ago, before I read one shouldn't take them regularly.
I took one last one despite getting headaches the last few times I've taken them.. no headache this time and I went to sleep considerably earlier than normal. Then I slept 10 hours, which I guess is fine since I'm recuperating from my 24 hr bug when I felt so incredibly lethargic, but still feel a little tired; getting a good amount of rest is fine as long as when feels refreshed afterward!
~~ (little later) Here we go again: at home with my sis (and my parents) on the weekend, and I am SO angry. It's been a month since she swept the bathroom floor. I remind her, which I shouldn't have to do, and she replies that she knows she needs to do it, yet does this make the process faster? Not AT ALL. I am SO tired of living with such a lazy ass. I don't know where her lack of responsibility comes from.. I can only put up with it a little longer. If a college friend needs to move out of her place by March, I would consider getting a place with her because.. words can't describe.. I simply need to get out of here. On my own (well, with housemates) where I can hopefully have a clearer mind and be more focused on my agenda, away from petty distractions that my family bring.

You can't say I don't make life interesting for myself..
Yesterday, due to confusion between LinkedIn, which has photos of people if they so choose, personal email, and masculine names for women, I was surprised that the Scottie I met for lunch turned out to be a woman! She's a Randy-Mac alumna, 15 years older, so it turned out well. We may meet again, and she may try to help me in my job search.
I don't remember the last time I felt so weak. I woke up feeling like I could throw up. I had wanted to go to the ball yoga class but decided to go back to sleep. Set my alarm because the community org person was going to stop by because I said I could donate craft supplies to the Children's museum. Had a nice long conversation with a Randy Mac friend, and though my stomach felt better, was still terribly weak, so slept for 3 hours. Didn't want to sleep too long and totally throw off my schedule.
I started using Facebook again a little. I like to update my status with random things sometimes. Chat is nice for a wider "audience," those who don't have Gmail.

Male ballet
Talk about gender-bending!
I saw this tonight http://www.trockadero.org , and luckily, our seats in the far right balcony were still good (better than back of the orchestra) because it's a small theater.
Let me tell you, it is too weird to see a package under a yellow tutu.

Frederick, MD
Another trip to DC, and what have I learned?
1. Def need a GPS
2. I like the store Filene's Basement
3. I'm not sure I want to live in DC area.. maybe I'm fine with Richmond for now while figuring out what kind of career I want!
I bought some brown corduroy pants at store mentioned above. I feel generally thin compared to college days on the terrible med but those pants showed me oh-so-well that I could afford to try jogging once a week and sit-ups, esp now that spring is approaching.
I went for a bike ride last saturday, and it was so pleasant. I felt optimistic about this spring.
